Midland Express Houston, Texas
|

Midland Express is a high energy
bluegrass group that incorporates
original compositions along with
traditional sound, creating a unique blend
of genre. We lean heavily on family values.
Our group consists of five musicians.
Conrad Craft is our mandolin player. He
placed third in the TX State Mandolin
Championships, 2006. Daniel Wheeler is
our guitar player. Although still in high
school, he already has made a name for
himself as one of the fastest guitarists in
the state. When these boys get together,
they can flat fly!
Kasie Huckabay is our fiddle player and
lead vocalist. Midland Express leans
heavily on her natural bluegrass voice. Wil
Huckabay is our banjo player. He is
considered the “old timer” of the group,
with over thirty years of banjo playing
under his belt. He has played with such
names as Ricky Skaggs, Wendy Bagwell,
Marty Stuart, and the Lewis Family. Wil
has also been a part of the Houston
Symphony as the only banjo player ever to
play for them.
Josh Roy rounds out this group with his
unique style of bass playing. Josh’s bass
playing is not considered as just a rhythm
instrument, but often takes the lead with
his haunting bowing style.
