During the formative years of Buddy and
Tina’s life these two young people were
exposed to the rich traditional American
music style. As children, they would visit
their grandmother, Cora, now 94, from the
islands of South Carolina. She shared
with them the music that her Irish father
and West African mother sang and
played. Many a cool evenings were spent
at their grandmother’s Carolina home,
playing the fiddle and the guitar trying to
accompany her with the songs to which
she would sing and clap to.

As time went on, Tina and Buddy never
gave up their love for music. Their mother
Pat desired for them to learn to read and
write the music that they already knew
how to play. She set out to search for a
music instructor.

Because Buddy and Tina were so prolific
with instruments before they had their first
lesson, they received scholarships to go
to the New Conservatory of Dallas at age
six and eight. Shortly after, Tina won the
SMU symphonic music festival award for
classical violin at age eight.  At nine,
Buddy conducted the Dallas symphony
orchestra with the assistance of
Conductor Andrew Litton which was
televised on A&E TV Network. May Fest
1997 Buddy was featured as solo jazz
violinist with the Ft. Worth Youth
Orchestra.  And they both have been in
several orchestras with Buddy as Concert
Master and Tina taking top chair.

They have appeared on several
documentaries as child prodigies. With
CNN, TNN, as well as the CMT award
winning documentary entitled “Waiting In
The Wings” which explored the origins of
country music in America.

They have performed at the International
Bluegrass Music Association in Louisville
KY, the European World of Bluegrass
Festival in Voorthuizen, Netherlands as
well as the National Old Time Country
Music Association, in which they received
a 2006 Seal of Excellence award.

Buddy and Tina are one of the top 100
Texas touring artist and members of the
Texas Commission on the Arts 2002-
2008. These composer / singer / multi
instrumentalists currently tour with their
parents Pat and Ray Wright.

Pat Wright is a graduate of Sybel School
of  Engineering, Colorado. She plays the
bass fiddle in the band and brings her
deep heritage of old time music to the
band that she received from her mother,
Cora. She sings lead and backup
harmonies and is the Band’s manager.

Ray Wright, rhythm guitar player, is a
graduate of Texas Southern University
and it’s because of his love for musical
instruments that he brought the
instruments into the home which allowed
Buddy and Tina to crawl around and play
on the instruments before they could
barely walk.
